Final 'Harry Potter' book will be split into two movies. The 'Deathly Hallows' films are scheduled to be released in November 2010 and May 2011.

Interesting. I didn't see that coming.

I read in a Newspaper they said that they only wanted to do the separate films. They even had Daniel Radcliffe say it. I'm assuming, because they believe that he has tons of influence. I still think it's for the money.

Yeah, I thought that bit of him saying "it was the only way I could see it working" was spin. Actors don't usually get to exert that kind of control, so it's just a coincidence he's on the side the producers chose.

Of course it is, but at the same time I'm glad they did it so as not to trivialize it and cut out important details or deviate from the book like they did with Lord of the Rings and call it artistic license :)

And all the references to the number seven ?
I find it amusing that there were problems having some actor (actress) signing for the 6th one... and now we are going to have even an 8th... have they got all main actors for both of these movies ?
... and they are older and older too! (yes, i've read that they will shot them together.

I'll tell you what, I'd have paid to see Goblet of Fire onwards as two movies apiece. They're all worth telling more fully than they did with the edited for film versions, and I'm glad that they're not going to either compress the whole storyline into 2 1/2 / 3 hours or make it an even longer epic to get the entire thing in. Of course there's the financial benefit for everyone involved, but that's something that they can have from me - they're telling a story that's this generation's epic fantasy. Good on'em. *shrug*

Mee too, #7, mee too. GoF was the one HP movie that make me a little angry about the things edited away, for the others there was only the usual "they could have done it better but hey, it was nice" feeling.
You know, i think that if the Lord of the Ring movie weren't made in these same years the HP phenomenon would have been a lot bigger.

I think they should've made the 4th movie a little longer. The thing which annoys me most is the fact that they cut away the house elves (mostly). The house elves play an incredible important part in the 7th book...in fact, they play a pretty important part in all the books starting at number 2.
